Fall Frenzy: Transitioning your Summer Wardrobe to Next Season!

[For today's post we have a guest blogger, Christie Chanthakhoun, our Downtown Intern talking about Fall Trends and transitioning seasons!]

Warm weather, bbq's with the friends, campfires, and spontaneous road trips is what Summer vacation is all about! It's crazy how fast this season is going by, and as much as we try to grasp onto the last bit of the sunshine, Fall will be here before we know it! It's always a bittersweet moment to put away that fun Summer wardrobe, but as much as I love this season, I honestly LOVE Fall fashion! Maybe it's the true Portlander in me, but it's always a fun transition easing into the cooler months.

But who says you have to put away ALL of your Summer wardrobe? You know that amazing maxi dress you fell head over heels for and had to have? Just add on your favorite oversized sweater, a belt around the waist, your favorite boots, an infinity scarf...and BAM! You're both comfortable and warm. The key to transitioning and making your seasonal wardrobes versatile is all about the layering! Adding different textures creates dimension and depth.

Some trends that I'm currently obsessing over for the Fall are rich jewel tones: Emerald Green, Sapphire Blue, and Oxblood Red are some of my favorites. Here is a look from Janelle James that you can transfer these amazing oxblood skinnys from Day to Night!

Faux leather skater skirts is a classic silhouette to carry over to Fall. Here is our take on transforming it from Day to Night! And for those colder nights, just throw on a pair of fun tights and you're good to go!

Having the perfect jacket is a wardrobe must! It can dress an outfit up or down, depending on how you accessorize and piece it together. Here is an example of how to wear our stripped assymetric zip jacket:

Don't forget a Fall necessity: The basic black legging! At Janelle James, our leggings are lined with fleece! Pair it with your favorite dress and jean jacket for a casual day in town.

Hopefully I inspired some ideas for your Fall Wardrobe! The key concept is to be comfortable, layer, and accessorize! We all have busy lifestyles and are on the go, so having key pieces that you can go Day to Night in is definitely a MUST!
